Through Tahaddi's health programs, we seek to be a welcoming place where families can receive medical and social care, and can be empowered to access the wider heath system.

The Tahaddi Health Center (THC) is located at the heart of the neighborhood of Hay El Gharbeh. The THC relies on a qualified team of doctors, a nurse, a psychologist and social workers to reach its goal of improved wellbeing.

Consultations are free, while medication and lab exams are provided at the lowest possible cost. The Tahaddi Health Center provides over 600 patient visits per month. We emphasize preventive healthcare by offering health promotion activities and medical visits to

Partnership with the American University of Beirut - Department of Family Medicine

Tahaddi has had an active partnership with the AUB Department of Family Medicine since 2010. Through this partnership, senior medical residents see patients at the Tahaddi Health Center. The residents are also involved in school health through an annual screening program for students at the Tahaddi Education Center (TEC). Residents may also choose ...  Show More

Financial Aid and Referral Support Program

A social work team works hand-in-hand with medical clinicians to support families who are most at-risk, offering counseling and practical support. Working through an established network of partners, we are able to accompany patients on doctors' visits, act as advocates when hospitalization, referrals or external exams are requested, and provide financial assistance as needed.

Health Promotion Activities

As part of our commitment to prevention and empowerment, we conduct weekly health education sessions for women of the area. Groups of women gather in each other’s homes during the traditional morning coffee time to discuss health topics with our health promoter.

More formal sessions also take place at our center. Our nurse conducts post-natal visits to support new moms and provides regular visits to homebound patients.

Support for Syrian Displaced Families

Syrian refugee families are welcomed as patients at our clinic. Limited financial assistance is available to Syrian patients who are unable to cover the cost of medications, hospitalization and referrals to specialists.

We work in close coordination with services offered by the UN.
