Psychosocial Services
Case Management
Launched in 2018, the Psychosocial Support (PSS) Center offers a safe space where community members receive emotional and material support. A team of case managers, social workers, and psychologists provides comprehensive services to child survivors of abuse, exploitation, violence, or neglect. Support services include individual and group counseling sessions, as well as emotional support groups for parents and children dealing with various challenges and traumas.
Relief Program
The PSS center also manages Tahaddi’s relief program, which supports Lebanese and displaced Syrian families with monthly food vouchers, rent assistance, and household essentials. In emergencies, the program also improves living conditions by carrying out essential home repairs, such as fixing leaks, waterproofing roofs, and securing homes.
IDs Program
Essential to the work of the PSS department is the provision of legal and financial aid to individuals who lack official identification documents (birth certificates, national IDs, etc.) Center staff work with these families who face challenges with their identification documents, tackling both the financial and legal fronts. They help families pay the fees of official paperwork, and direct them to legal assistance if needed. The PSS team also works on the awareness front, particularly among young couples, regarding the process and the true costs associated with registering marriages and births with the aim of preventing complications down the line.
Well-Being Groups
Tahaddi’s psychosocial well-being groups employ innovative approaches to promote mental health and address the diverse needs of community members of all ages. These include protection-focused sessions for out-of-school children and youth, art workshops for adolescent girls, nutritional groups promoting healthy, cost-effective meals, women’s meetings focused on stress relief and relationship building, and baby care sessions for young mothers in collaboration with the Tahaddi Health Center.
